Not sure...since we are all talking about 12K and only 2 months movement. Are they cautious or we are all missing something?
Personally, I think they (USCIS) have no clue therefore DOS has been extremely cautious.

Hi,
Would like to throw some more ideas;
You should keep in mind that with this economy there is no guarantee of your job (my personal experience).
If you want to stay in this country and that is one of your foremost desires/aim
then in my opinion it is always better to aim for the GC and then do whatever you have to do.
If you have option of going back to your home country and do not mind (due to job loss or other situation) then by all means go for career.

I see that for EB2 the PD is 01 APR 2004 now. I want to know if I-485 approvals is linked to this PD date or they will work independent to these days.

Seriously, is this a prank? If you have a 200k job why would you want to think of IT? IT jobs start paying in that range once you become a director of some kind. Are you ready to take a hit of 80 K because you hate your job?

I am hoping to get my green card next year( PD 06/2004 NSC EB 2 India).I need your advise on how to get into computer/software/IT field.
I do not have an engineering background but am willing to go back to school. I would like to start working on this transition while I wait for my GC.
My questions are -

No members have written a tutorial for Flex as of yet. Kirupa has said it a thousand times there has to be valid tutorials for there to be a forum (a simple search would have shown this).
My suggestion write a few well written tutorials on flex specific topics and submit them to Kirupa.
Also Kirupa is a MS developer so its only inherent that he writes what he knows best... I don't think he really even uses Flash very much anymore, except when he wrote that tutorial about some of the new features.

I believe i am right when I say that one can work on an expired H1b visa provided his/her extension (I129) is pending approval!! Please correct me if wrong.

And divide those numbers equally in Eb1, 2 and 3, and this includes spouse and children.
So, approx 4K primiary applicants (assuming that there are 1.5 dependents per primary applicant).
If the number of visas remain available (let's say Eb1 was not used up it tricles down to Eb2 then to Eb3) or rest of the world visas remain avialalble they can be given to retrogressed countries.
Also, previous year's unused visas were captured and used in 2005, that's why the actual number of visas given to Indians can vary every year.
But if all the coutries are retrogressed as now, then Indians would not gain any extra visas, restricting to 14K annual limit.
Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I think that is standard message, my I-140 RD is sep 20th 2006 and got RFE on ability to pay last month and my employer responded on 10/04 and the online status changed to RFE response received and case processing resumed. its been more than a week no update.

We (3 of us from the PA state chapter) had a meeting with Congressman Joe Sastak's office staff in Media, PA.
The staff member was completely unaware of our issues (other than, FBI name check takes long time and USCIS processing is slow). However, she was eager to understand our problems.
She recommended that we should meet the office staff in DC since they handle issues related to legislations.

US has been in number 1 in the past, moved to 2nd spot for a couple of years, in the world competitiveness rankings. For the first time, the US moved to the 6th Spot in the world rankings by the world economic forum (Europe based Institution). The main reason was because of the huge current account deficit and negative savings (mainly federal deficit) which is a threat to the US competitiveness. China moved down due to corruption etc. India moved up but any further movement will depend on structural reforms, especially controlling the huge public service and red-tape and a creaking infrastructure - power, roads, ports, water supply - all of which are run by the government. The health services in large parts of India is dismal and so is the public education system (K-12). With the left firmly controlling the ruling party, deregulation is slow and insipid, and it is the private sector which is basically contributing to the GDP and Competitiveness. what is your online status after RFE. Does online status change to "RFE" from "Received and pending" once we get RFE. My employer dont tell me much about my I140 status or RFE but I have receipt number. I can check online

When I spoke to my lawyer 2 weeks back or so they said that it at times takes 1 month to get the RFE by mail....sounds strange I got my EAD a week or so after the status changes online....to approved..
I have to ask them again as to what is happening, have not heard back from them....

I called the CBP office at the nearest international airport and the officer said "As long as they leave the country with in 6 months they are good. I don't have to come to the airport to get it corrected". He did not ask me the I-94 numbers or any thing. He just confirmed they are here on class B2.
So what does the gurus suggest?
When it comes to immigration matters, my mantra is safe than sorry. I would still make the trip to the CBP office and get a date noted on the I-94. This way if you want to extend their stay, etc you will be covered.
